2014: Movado Parlee

Movado’s expertise in mechanical watch-making reaches new heights of sportive design distinction and technological innovation in the new Movado Parlee Limited Edition Automatic Chronograph. Charismatic and compelling, the Movado Parlee takes its name and design inspiration from the company that engineers the world’s most advanced performance racing bikes – Parlee Cycles pioneered the use of carbon fiber in bicycle frame fabrication, and in doing so, redefined the cycling world.

“The ultra-lightweight material utilized to fabricate Parlee road bikes inspired the design,” remarked Efraim Grinberg, Chairman & CEO, Movado Group, Inc. “Modern design and innovation define the Movado experience, and our new Parlee Chronograph is a compelling example of the brand’s artistic creativity fused with leading-edge materials and technologically advanced watch-making expertise.”

Invoking minimalism, simplified forms and innovative ideas as a catalyst for creativity, Movado transforms the timepiece into an art form. The Movado Parlee Chronograph challenges traditional boundaries by utilizing 250 layers of carbon fiber pressed together to form the curvature of the bezel. The contoured dial, visibly deeper at the east/west sides, enhances the design’s dimensionality and creates an air of animation. Crafted in black sandblasted PVD-finished titanium, the watch is constructed with a wrap-around tubular framework that integrates the case and bracelet and accentuates the modern and aerodynamic design silhouette. Powered by a fine Swiss ETA caliber A07 automatic chronograph movement, this highly original timepiece, available with dial accents in green, orange, blue or white, was issued in an edition of 250 total pieces with individually numbered exhibition case-backs.

Meticulously engineered, lightweight and durable, the dramatic new Movado Parlee combines an inventive use of materials with leading-edge watch technology and the art of modern design.

To celebrate the launch of Parlee, Movado has made a monetary donation to World Bicycle Relief (WBR).
